Traffic Index Line refers to the signs that convey guidance, restrictions, warnings and other traffic information to traffic participants on the road surface with lines, arrows, text, elevation marks, raised road signs and outline signs. Its function is to control and guide traffic, and can be used in conjunction with signs or alone.
Road traffic markings are mainly marked on the road surface, which is exposed to the sun, rain, wind and snow, and the impact and wear of vehicles, so there are strict requirements for its performance. First of all, the road traffic markings require short drying time and simple operation to reduce traffic interference; secondly, the road markings paint requires strong reflective ability, bright colors, and strong reflectivity, so that it has good visibility during the day and night; thirdly, the road making paint should have anti-skid and wear resistance, To ensure driving safety and service life.
Road Marking Paintings classification
Road pavement marking paintings can be divided into four types: normal temperature solvent type, heating solvent type, hot melt or also called thermoplastic type and two-component type.
The normal temperature solvent type road marking paint can be operated and constructed under normal temperature conditions, the requirements for the environment are relatively loose, and the scope of application is relatively wide. Room temperature paints include ester glue, epoxy, acrylic and chlorinated rubber. Acrylic paint and chlorinated rubber have a faster drying time, epoxy paint has better adhesion and durability, and ester paint has a limited amount due to poor wear resistance. The effective service life of normal temperature solvent-based paint is 4 to 8 months.
Heating solvent-based road marking paint, the heating temperature is low, and the film is formed by solvent volatilization and resin oxidation polymerization in the air. The drying speed is fast, the painting film is thick, the service life can reach 8~15 months, and the reflective effect is good.
Hot-melt road marking paint (thermoplastic road marking paint) is solvent-free, and high temperature is required to melt the powder paint during construction. It is painted on the road surface with special equipment, and formed into a marking line after condensation. This hot-melt marking line solidifies quickly, has strong wear resistance, has an effective life of 20 to 36 months, and has good light reflectivity. It is suitable for use on busy urban arterial roads and highways.
Among the two-component marking paintings, PMMA is used as the resin in the majority, and various properties are better than the above three paintings, but the price is much higher too.
Road Marking Paint Structure
The normal temperature solvent paint is composed of synthetic resin (15%~20%) to form a painting film, and binds various other raw materials. Including: pigments (15%~20%) are mainly used for coloring and covering; extender pigments (15%~38%) are fillers to increase mechanical strength and wear resistance; additives (2%~5%) are used to promote fast Dry, prevent sedimentation, crusting, easy to disperse, and increase the stability of the ingredients; solvent (30%~40%) gives the paint fluidity and adjusts the viscosity.
Heating solvent-based paint is composed of five components: synthetic resin, color pigment, extender pigment, additive and solvent. The synthetic resin constitutes the painting film and promotes the adhesion of the respective raw materials to each other. Pigments color and mask the reticle. The extender pigment is the filler material, which increases the mechanical strength and wears resistance of the painting. Additives promote fast drying of the marking paint, prevent settling, prevent skinning, ease dispersion and increase stability. Solvent (20%~30%) gives the paint fluidity and adjusts the viscosity.
The resin in the hot melt painting must be thermoplastic, which requires good compatibility with various substances, low acid value, light color, good heat resistance and weather resistance. Hot melt painting additives include plasticizers, anti-settling agents, anti-pollution agents and anti-ultraviolet discoloration agents. In order to increase the reflectivity of the marking line at night, it is also pre-mixed with glass beads and surface sprinkled with glass beads.
